Andre & Mary-Ann, Thank you so much for the “opportunity “ to look back again and see more (possibilities) from my journey with you in Mimesis Academy. This Substack is beautiful beyond measure. What I see and yet the unseen in the road traveled guides into the astonishing depths of what will be by the gift of freedom to choose what will come…a consuming fire 🔥 or a fiery burning eternal invitation 🔥 💕 🔥! What was 🧠, is 🧠, & is to come🤗💕! Jesus tells us there is only one teacher 😉😃. Aways present…..
I did open Sandor’s book again to reread my notes to see what I saw. There was so much more opening up in this stream. Grateful I am!
Fully equipped we are.
I ask this question in the context community relationships, to share or not to share?
When a child is raised by two parents with depression, this child will likely develop a mood disorder such as depression or bipolar because those characteristics and traits are modeled by the parents in the family.
Is this an example of Girard teaching used as diagnosis? And maybe also seen as prophetic by some?
Hi Alena. A part of Girard's insight has to do with our reflective nature - that we are created in relationship. That would be relevant in this example, and yes, certain human dramas have patterns that give similar results, which would be the prophetic in Sandor's definition. Within larger social settings, the complexities of individual relationships can be bewildering - Girard's ideas come into their own in such social settings, where both the behavior of the group and the individual find distinct patterns.
Bewildering…..as in the chaos (drama) the mind blindly attempts to name or pattern the stronghold, principality, power; good or evil, victim or victimizer, ashes or provision of self will’s certainty ….! It is mystical to my brain. In surrender it is none of these. Oh how wonderful are the higher Ways of the Lord working in me expanding the unseen yet-to-be seen of creation. The beauty of questions of an inquiring brain that answers with possibility? The unknown (He) is not in the linguistics of the literal word (tower of babble). In this mystery of who or what, all things consist (uniquely to me and uniquely as me) to journey into the not-yet-created possibility. An uncoupling of the energy to fuel the drama of the fiery furnace into ashes into the replenishing invitational energy of Love…always present in the alpha and omega. 🧐😉….Ignore my brain’s attempt to choose words in its desire over the astonishing Desire to be incarnate beyond what is mimetically birthed. A peace that surpasses understanding, so-to-speak in a literal interpretation! ☺️
Thank you for the insight. I see aspects of the reflective nature in my work in mental health, with couples and in the family system. I assume these patterns play out on a micro and macro level.
